Daddy's Spirit enjoys tour and lunch at Reading Terminal Market (4/17/10) |
On Saturday April 17, 2010, a small group from Daddy's Spirit was treated to a tour of the Reading Terminal Market by RTM General Manager Paul Steinke. The tour reviewed the history of the market (dating back well over 100 years), took us through most of the merchant stalls, and after taking in the sights, sounds and aromas of the market, ended with lunch. We thank Carmen's Famous Italian Hoagies and Tootsie's Salad Express for our delicious lunch (pictured below) as well as the Flying Monkey Bakery for the wonderful cupcakes. |

| Phillies Outing, Courtesy of Reading Terminal Market Merchants (6/16/09) | 28 children and chaperones attended the June 16, 2009 Phillies game versus the Toronto Blue Jays as guests of Reading Terminal Market merchants Tootsie's Salad Express, Dinic's, and Spataro's. In a year when we have experienced bad economic times collectively, and in many cases, individually, it’s particularly noteworthy that a group of locally-owned businesses have exhibited such generosity to make this outing possible. | |

We had 42 people in attendance, and after the game, all kids were invited to skate on the historic Spectrum ice, along with members of the Phantoms. There were lots of smiles to go around. Reflecting back, this was our third year attending a Phantoms game, and this time we also were able to set up a table near the south entrance and distribute literature and, in general, help build awareness of Daddy's Spirit. |
