28 children and chaperones attended the June 16, 2009 Phillies game versus the Toronto Blue Jays as guests of Reading Terminal Market merchants Tootsie's Salad Express, Dinic's, and Spataro's. In a year when we have experienced bad economic times collectively, and in many cases, individually, it’s particularly noteworthy that a group of locally-owned businesses have exhibited such generosity to make this outing possible. We have had a great relationship with the Phillies, who hosted us on Father’s Day 2007 and again last June, when they aired the Daddy’s Spirit video as the gates opened pre-game, so to have Reading Terminal Market merchants step up for us and make this year’s outing possible is really wonderful.
